- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion chopped
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Boil noodles until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil. Add beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in tomato paste and crushed tomatoes. Simmer for 20–25 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and Italian seasoning.
- Mix ricotta, egg, Parmesan, salt and pepper in a bowl.
- Preheat oven to 375°F. In a baking dish, layer sauce, noodles, ricotta, mozzarella. Repeat layers ending with sauce and cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 minutes more.
- Let rest 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil.
