  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp brewed espresso
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • Optional: melted chocolate for drizzling


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in one bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar in another bowl, then add eggs and vanilla.
  4. Mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  5. Fold in chopped dates and nuts.
  6. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 50–60 minutes.
  7. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  8. Mix espresso and powdered sugar for the drizzle.
  9. Drizzle over the cooled loaf, add optional chocolate and extra toppings.
