Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan. Line with parchment.
- Pour boiling water over dates and soak for 10–15 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time and add vanilla.
- Mix in dry ingredients just until combined.
- Fold in dates and walnuts with a spatula.
- Pour batter into the loaf pan and bake 50–60 minutes.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.
