  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Boil bowtie pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sauté onion and garlic until soft.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Mix ricotta with salt and pepper in a bowl.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F. Layer sauce, pasta, ricotta, and cheese in a 9×13 baking dish. Repeat layers.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes.
  8. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
