- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup Greek yogurt or sour cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup chopped pistachios
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp honey (for frosting)
- 2–3 tbsp heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch pans.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and cardamom.
- Cream butter and sugars. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Add yogurt and milk alternately with dry ingredients until smooth.
- Fold in walnuts and pistachios.
- Divide batter into pans and bake for 25–30 minutes.
- Make syrup by simmering honey, water, and lemon juice. Let cool.
- Brush warm cakes with syrup and cool completely.
- Whip frosting: beat butter until creamy, add powdered sugar, honey, and cream. Mix until fluffy.
- Layer and frost cake, decorate with extra nuts and honey drizzle.
